Eggman is a mad scientist and former antagonist of Tails Gets Trolled. He's considered to be one of the top scientists in the world and is known for giving Sonic his supersonic speed as well as experimenting on animals.

History

Origins

Nothing is known of Eggman's origins other than that he's considered one of the top 3 scientific minds in the world as implied by the Troll King, one of the others being Heimerdinger and the third currently being unknown.

Earliest Accounts

The earliest accounts begin long ago when Eggman was experimenting on various animal-based humanoid beings, having given Sonic his powers of speed. Sonic tried multiple times to escape from Eggman to no avail, until Sonic had stolen a super battery that was used to power his mainframe and came across Amy in a secret grove. He tracked Sonic to this grove, and seeing the blossoming relationship between the two, kidnapped Amy as well, and took one of the strange gems that were native to the grove, despite Sonic's attempts to stop him.

The years afterwards

Eggman took Amy and used her as a sex slave for his own depraved desires, slowly breaking her mind as Sonic tried in vain to track the two of them down across Eggman's countless laboratories scattered across the world. During this time Eggman discovered he could use the gem, now dubbed a Chaos Emerald, to power his base, and had no need for the battery Sonic took so long ago, and as such had no reason to return Amy. This continued until Sonic struck a deal with Eggman, giving him a number of the Chaos Emeralds from the grove in exchange for Amy. The exchange was made and Eggman now had multiple Chaos Emeralds in his possession, using them as power sources for his inventions.

Capture and Death

Sonic enacts his revenge on Eggman.

As revealed in a flashback sequence when Fudd consumed his brains, before his death he had promised Heimerdinger that he would come rescue him when the trolls captured him, even if he ended up having to work with Sonic. Sonic approached Eggman for the location of the Troll base, which Eggman agreed to do in exchange for the Chaos Emerald held by Sonic. After revealing the location of the base to Sonic, Sonic stabbed him in the back through his chair as vengeance for all the suffering he caused his friends, killing him in the process.

In Death, A Tool

Eggman's body was captured by the Trolls, the Troll King confessing that with his death achieving their goals would be harder, that was until one of the Trolls found out about Fudd's abilities involving the dead, which lead to Fudd's capture, who then used his abilities as a Neutral to attain Eggman's memories and knowledge, and thus help the Trolls attain their goals. He's currently on the floor of the Troll laboratory, as Fudd dropped his control over him to escape after Demaro stormed the place looking for Fudd.

Real Life Origins

Ironically, Eggman was originally meant to be the hero of his own game. Rather than being a scientist, he was originally a sleepy, plump man dawned in pajamas. However, it was decided that Sonic take his place. It wasn't until Sonic reached America when he was called Doctor Robotnik. He had two first names, "Ivo" and Julian. Overtime, however, Ivo was chosen by SEGA of Japan while the name "Julian" remained within the Sonic SAT:AM canon. The name "Robotnik" is actually one of the Polish names for "Worker".

Differences

Like other characters with different versions, Eggman in Tails Gets Trolled has many similarities and differences with his various counterparts.

Main Series Games

Like Knuckles, Eggman's character varies from game to game and from author to author. In some games, he's a scientific and strategic genius aiming to spread his factories and annex the world under his Eggman Empire. In others, he's a bumbling scientist that wants to build an amusement park in space. He is the grand son of Gerald Robotnik and cousin to Maria Robotnik and Eggman Nega (Though the latter might be his descendant depending on the story). Though he can be quite cruel, he is willing to help Sonic and his friends if the needs arises (As seen in Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06 amongst other examples). In Tails Gets Trolled, Eggman needed to be bribed with Chaos Emeralds in order to cooperate with Sonic and was willing to kidnap his friend for purposes ranging from experimentation to zoophilia.

As a result, Eggman is more like his counterpart from the original Sonic the Hedgehog to Sonic Unleashed, and even then, only loosely so.

Sonic X

Eggman in Sonic X is very much identical to his counterpart in the earlier "modern" Sonic games, even willing to help the crew of the Blue Typhoon to save the universe from the vile botanical cyborgs known as the Metarex. Like his core counterpart, the Eggman in Sonic X is only loosely similar to his counterpart in Tails Gets Trolled.

Sonic Boom

Sonic Boom Eggman is a mix of his classic and modern selves in terms of character. He is both a scientific genius and a complete buffoon, often falling victims to the protectors of Bygone Island. He, along with his counterparts in Sonic X and the main series games, are perhaps the most dissimilar to his counterpart in Tails Gets Trolled.

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog

Though similar to his game counterpart in many ways, his counterpart in AoStH is crueler and more hateful than any of his previously mentioned counterparts. This, and his more sexually promiscuous nature, make him one of the more similar counterparts to his counterpart in Tails Gets Trolled.

Sonic Underground

Though not as developed as his other counterparts, Julian Robotnik in Sonic Underground is still a ruthless and sadistic genius, much like himself in "Tails Gets Trolled". He rarely enters battles without protection, much like his counterpart in Sonic SAT:AM; which is very different from most of his counterparts (Including his counterpart in Tails Gets Trolled). However, he is still somewhat similar to Eggman in the series.

Sonic OVA

Eggman in Sonic OVA is a very delusional individual, perhaps even more than any other of his counterparts. However, he, like Eggman in Tails Gets Trolled, has unhealthy attractions to women, often kidnapping them and planning to have kids with them regardless of whether they like it or not. This is similar to his counterpart in the comic, though he is less successful and never resorts to more heinous maneuvers. Regardless, their sexual fantasies make them very much similar.

Sonic SAT:AM

Warlord Julian Robotnik in SAT:AM, though more successful than his counterpart in Tails Gets Trolled (In the fact that he has actually succeeded in taking over the world), is still a cruel, sadistic psychopath who abuses everyone in his employ, even his own biological nephew, Snively Robotnik (Who is utterly terrified of him). Prior to the events of the series, Julian was once a PoW of an unknown, presumably human or near human faction, taken by King Acorn during the events of the mysterious Great War. After staging a coup d'état, he took over most of Mobius and roboticized most of its inhabitants. His only major opponents are the Freedom Fighters and their various allies, who are still outnumbered and relatively outmatched.

In Tails Gets Trolled, the size of the Eggman Empire is unknown and is still threatened by Sonic and his friends, who, unlike the Freedom Fighters, are not trained combat professionals (With the possible exceptions of Shadow and Rouge). In fact, Eggman was killed relatively easily by Sonic whereas the Freedom Fighters are semifrequently counteracted. However, his personality shares many similarities with Warlord Robotnik, including his predatory nature and cruel, sadistic outlook on life. It is unknown whether Snively or any of the Freedom Fighters exist in Tails Gets Trolled, but it is likely that they do not exist because TGT almost exclusively uses material from the Sonic games (Excluding Dark Sonic, who originated in Sonic X).

Archie Comics (Pre-Reboot)

Like in SAT:AM, Julian (Later "Ivo") is a sadistic and psychotic warlord. However, due to various factors such as the efforts of the various Freedom Fighter groups and other entities like the Guardians and the various omnipotent beings in the setting, he no longer controls as much of the world as he used to. Though eventually replaced by an even more transhumant counterpart from another universe, the history of Robo Robotnik prior to his appearance remains much the same. He is perhaps even more sadistic than Eggman, keeping his prisoners in dangerous locations and often equipping them with explosive collars and/or other heinous creations. He is also a vile war criminal who frequently tests his experiments on innocent civilians (Such is why he was conscripted to serve in the war).
