Lazerbot (real name Camrey Blankenship) is the creator of Tails Gets Trolled and its spinoffs. He is both the artist and the writer for the series, with some assistance from his brother known online as Embergram.

History

Creation of Tails Gets Trolled

Lazerbot published the first pages of Tails Gets Trolled on October 10th, 2011. On August 5th, 2012, Lazerbot's original DeviantArt account was hacked, leading to some confusion as the hacker began to upload his own version of Chapter 11. Despite the effort, Lazerbot continued under a new DeviantArt account. The original account was taken back with help from Lazerbot's friend on April 15th, 2019.

Lazerbot was involved with the Something Awful forums in the early years of the comic, and took notice of the thread where the goons were discussing the comic. Although he appreciated the fan tributes they made, he did not take kindly to some of their criticisms and made a journal post highlighting some comments in the thread and his response to them.

Problems began to arise in the year of 2015. Lazerbot's laptop, which he had been using to create Tails Gets Trolled, began to have issues. This caused a minor delay in the month of April 2015, but this was resolved quickly. However, Tails Gets Trolled would soon see another delay on June 13th, 2015 as Lazerbot was moving and as a result, did not have access to the Internet for a while. Due to many additional factors such as sickness, the laptop finally dying, and needing to move houses constantly, Tails Gets Trolled did not receive any updates until 2017, when Chapter 22 was released, two years after the release of the previous chapter. Adding on to the delays, before the start of Chapter 22, the series also took a slight hiatus as Lazerbot created a separate DeviantArt account to focus on Tails Gets Trolled. The previous Tails Gets Trolled pages were removed from his general account during this time and moved there.

Most of the updates to the comic were then posted on the new account (then known as iiupsidedownii, now as lltailsgetstrolledll). Lazerbot and Embergram (his co-artist/co-writer/brother) would post updates from time to time regarding Tails Gets Trolled and other personal projects they were working on. A Patreon account dedicated to reaching a goal of $100 per month that would be used to support a new artist for Tails Gets Trolled was also created, but did not see much success.

Tails Gets Trolled would soon see a reappearance in the form of Tails Gets Trolled Polished. This series was intended to be more serious in nature, correcting the errors found in earlier chapters and expand on both new and old characters alike. This would prove to be unsuccessful, however, and both Polished and the main series would soon be placed on hiatus (permanently in the case of the former). Some time would pass before anything Tails Gets Trolled related would be released. On March 18th, 2018, however, Lazerbot hosted a Q&A where he answered questions related to the lore of Tails Gets Trolled.

Until then, not much would be heard from Lazerbot until he joined the (then) fan-made Discord server for Tails Gets Trolled on September 18th, 2019. There, he would share various facts regarding the lore of Tails Gets Trolled and interact with the fans. When Chapter 23: The conclusion - Part 3 began, Lazerbot would then oversee the project as a team of volunteers worked to draw out the script he had released in 2017.

Upon completion of the script, Lazerbot returned to drawing Tails Gets Trolled beginning with Page 19. There would be a short hiatus between Pages 20 and 21 due to a cockroach infestation within Lazerbot's main PC, but since then, the series continued on at a steady pace.
